FORM AND FUNCTION UPDATE
Form and Function is a free weekly after school program dedicated to making real code accessible to middle schoolers. Each week the students will do projects, get one-on-one help, and interact with demos as they gain an understanding of programming and web design. Participants will code using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to create their very own websites. Previous coding experience is welcomed but by no means necessary. No matter the student’s starting ability, we will find the right challenge. Students can attend regularly and progress through our levels or drop in any week.
Any middle schooler who is curious about coding is welcome to sign up for this program, which starts on October 24th and ends the week of May 22nd. Students can choose to attend any one out of three sessions per week, which run from 4:30 to 5:30 PT every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. More information about this program can be found on the Form and Function page on our website, and if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to email info@bitbybitcoding.org!
Student Testimonials:
I really liked expanding my knowledge of computers and it was super fun, but at the same time I felt like I learned many new things
This program was amazing! It taught me many basic coding skills that I would not have learned, and the volunteers were amazing too. They dedicated so much time to make sure I understand what was taught and that I had no problems. They also helped me with my own projects too!
I think form and function is great. The teachers are fun and I felt like I could ask them anything. I went to other coding classes too, but this is the best one by a mile. All the teachers aren't just great - they're really smart.
Form & Function was amazing!! I loved to code with great helpers and teachers! Every week, coming back, it felt like there was something BIG, something NEW to learn. :)

Hello World is a two-week online summer camp for motivated middle school girls and non-binary youth to learn to code their own websites. In this camp, we introduced students to the heart of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Students successfully completed HTML/CSS Websites and/or JavaScript Adventure Games! With 13 Instructor Volunteers and 9 Helper Volunteers, a total of 975 hours of work was put into the program. All these volunteers contributed to the 60 students who were taught over the course of 4 weeks with a total of 60 hours of running the program, with an amazing 23 websites completed by students! Below you will find some student projects and testimonials of the 2021 summer camp!

The volunteers were so supportive and encouraging. I had a lot of fun. It felt like an enjoyable camp more than a boring learning experience.
Amazing program, all the instructors were friendly and taught at the perfect pace. I would definitely recommend it if you are a beginner and want to get started with coding or if you want to review what you know!
I feel like they were really kind and patient with me throughout the week when I had questions or computer issues so I feel like the volunteers and helpers were really helpful, kind and patient with me.
